Nike has been hiring for its new VP for Product sourcing and Supply Chain Design, according to an email obtained by TechCrunch.
The email, sent to an employee, states: “As you may know, we have an incredibly diverse team that includes over 40 people in all roles.
One of those roles is VP of Product Design.
We are looking for someone who has the ability to lead the new VP position of VP of Design at Nike and who has deep product expertise and experience.”
This is the second VP of the company’s product sourcing team, who previously worked at Nike’s design team.
It’s not clear what role this new VP will be in.
We asked Nike for comment and will update this post if and when we hear back.
In a recent interview with Fast Company, CEO Mark Parker said that he would like to have more women in leadership positions at the company.
In addition, he added that he believes the “most successful companies” are built around women.
While he did not elaborate on the role, Parker has made it clear that he has no problem with women at the helm of the brand.
“It’s not a matter of being a woman or not being a man,” Parker said.
“We have to be a very diverse group of people, and we’ve done a good job of that.”
In January, Nike announced that its chief financial officer, Christine Brown, would be stepping down.
The company had previously indicated that she would remain on the job for “up to a year” in order to allow her to focus on the company and its global expansion.
